Ministry of Interior Has So Far Won the Most Medals at 3rd National Games

PHNOM PENH: The Ministry of Interior has so far won the most gold medals at the 3rd National Games and 1st National Para Games in 2022, followed by the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

As of 25 November 2022, the Ministry of Interior has won a total of 91 medals, including 45 gold medals, while the Ministry of National Defense has won 42 medals, including 23 gold medals, and the Ministry of Economy has won 51 medals, including 17 gold medals.

Prey Veng Province is currently in fourth place with 42 medals overall, include 10 gold medals. In contrast, Kratie and Preah Vihear provinces have not yet won any medals.

The National Games are scheduled to be held every two years, with the first edition taking place in 2016 and the second in 2018. The third edition was originally supposed to take place in 2020, however, it was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia organized 38 sporting events for the 2022 National Games, including seven for the Para Games. The games are being held from 19-30 November 2022.
