BREAKING NEWS: Russia Denies Reports that Foreign Minister Lavrov Was Sent to the Emergency Room

BALI: "Western media like to spread lies" is what Sergey Lavrov said in a video posted on social media after the Associated Press reported that he had been rushed to the hospital due to heart problems.

In a one-minute video posted by Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Maria Zakharova, Foreign Minister Lavrov can be seen wearing a blue shirt and shorts, sitting outside his apartment reading a document that says "Western journalists had been writing falsely for a decade that Putin, 70, was ill."

He continues to say that this is just a political mind game by the media and nothing new.

“Western journalists need to be more truthful," he said.

The Foreign Minister's remarks came after the Associated Press quoted an Indonesian official saying that Lavrov had been taken to the hospital after arriving in Bali for the G20 summit, to receive treatment for a heart disease.

The Governor of Bali, I Wayan Koster, also told Reuters that Lavrov had visited Sanglah Hospital in Bali for a “check-up” and that the Foreign Minister was in good health.

Sergey Lavrov, 72, has been Russia's foreign minister since 2004.
