Prime Minister of Singapore Thanks Prime Minister Hun Sen for Successful ASEAN Summit

SINGAPORE: The Prime Minister of Singapore, Lee Hsien Loong, thanked the Chairman of ASEAN 2022, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, for leading ASEAN successfully this year, and especially for successfully hosting the 17th East Asia Summit on Sunday morning, 13 November.

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong made a post on his official Facebook page announcing that he had returned to his homeland after attending the ASEAN Summit in Cambodia. He said what he remembered the most from attending were the strategic, political, and economic issues discussed at the 17th East Asia Summit on Sunday morning.

"We are a very diverse group, but the strength of ASEAN and the EAS is in bringing the Leaders together for dialogue and discussion," he wrote. “Thanks to Samdech Hun Sen, Cambodian Prime Minister for the warm hospitality and for a successful ASEAN Chairmanship year!"

He said he hopes Indonesia would continue to lead ASEAN well and that he would work closely with Indonesian President Joko Widodo and other ASEAN leaders to respond to global issues through the main tenets of ASEAN unity and centrality, and to seize opportunities for community development in order to create a peaceful, stable, and prosperous ASEAN.
