US President Joe Biden Leaves Cambodia for G20 Summit in Indonesia

PHNOM PENH: US President Joe Biden left Cambodia on Sunday afternoon, 13 November, to attend the G20 summit in Bali, Indonesia, which will be held from 15-16 November 2022.

Leaders of many countries and delegations attending the ASEAN Summit departed from Cambodia on Sunday to return to their homelands, attend the G20 Summit or attend to other international engagements.

President Joe Biden was in Cambodia for two days from 12-13 November to attend the ASEAN-US Summit, the East Asia Summit, and other related meetings. Notably, the United States and ASEAN officially announced the enhancement of relations to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership.

The US President also held a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Hun Sen on Saturday, 12 November. Both sides pledged to strengthen ties and cooperation in the fields of culture demining, peacekeeping, and the environment, as well as to strengthen law enforcement cooperation to combat transnational crime.

The Prime Minister of Cambodia and President of the United States will meet again at the G20 Summit hosted in Bali, Indonesia from 15-16 November 2022.
