Australian PM Will Continue to Support Cambodia's Digital Economy

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen met with the Prime Minister of Australia, Anthony Albanese, on Saturday morning, 12 November, on the sidelines of the ASEAN Summit and related summits.

The bilateral meeting between Cambodia and Australia took place before the opening of the ASEAN-Australia Summit. According to the Prime Minister’s assistant, Eang Sophalleth, Prime Minister Albanese told Prime Minister Hun Sen that Australia will continue to support a number of developments in Cambodia, including a digital economy, a green economy, in smart energy and in other sectors, to contribute to the stability and prosperity of Cambodia and the region.

Prime Minister Hun Sen responded to this by expressing his appreciation for the good relations between Cambodia and Australia. He also thanked the Australian Prime Minister for the previous support given by Australia to Cambodia, including assistance in agriculture, security, the development of human resources, the encouragement of foreign investment, and in providing Covid-19 vaccines to Cambodia.
