Phnom Penh: On the morning of November 10, 2022, the China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) and the Ministry of Public Works and Transport of Cambodia jointly signed an MoU on the construction of the Phnom Penh-Bavet Expressway.

According to Mr. Sun Chanthol, Minister of Public Works and Transport, the signing of this agreement would finalize the negotiations for the concession agreement, for which the construction of the Phnom Penh-Bavet expressway is expected to start in 2023 and be completed in late 2026 or early 2027.

The 138-kilometer expressway that connects Phnom Penh and Bavet will also have a five-kilometer-long bridge over the Mekong.

Mr. Sun Chanthol stated that the Phnom Penh-Bavet expressway construction project is expected to cost 1638 million US dollars.
