Cambodian PM to Hold Telephone Meeting with Ukrainian President on 1 November

Kampong Thom: Prime Minister Hun Sen has confirmed that he will meet with the President of Ukraine by telephone on 1 November.

The Prime Minister said this during a meeting to distribute rice seeds and food to more than 6,000 flood-affected victims in Kampong Thom province on the morning of 29 October 2022.

The Prime Minister said: "On 1 November, I will meet with the President of Ukraine to discuss by phone. I leave him to choose (time and day) because Ukraine is 4 hours different, so I put 4 pm or 3 pm. If it is 4 o'clock, it is noon (in Ukraine). Since I am the Chair of ASEAN, he wants to have a relationship, he proposed that Ukraine can come and sign, the foreign minister of Ukraine can come and [representative of] Spain can sign the agreement on friendship and cooperation in Southeast Asia [as well]."

The Prime Minister also invited the Russian president to attend the ASEAN summit in November, but he has not yet responded.
