Phnom Penh Warns of Possible Disruptions to Garbage Collection

Phnom Penh: Phnom Penh’s Capital Administration is warning that the city could experience some disruptions to garbage collection over the next few days. Two new service providers will start operating tomorrow, after having been named back in March.

Cintri’s monopoly has come to an end. It will no longer be responsible for garbage collection and cleaning across the whole city, but will now operate only in Chamkarmorn, Boeung Keng Kang, Meanchey and Chbar Ampov.

“800 Super/Global Action for Environment Awareness” will now be providing services to residents of Toul Kork, Russey Keo, Sen Sok, Chroy Changvar and Prek Pnov. The Mizuda Group will be responsible for Daun Penh, 7 Makara, Dangkor, Por Senchey and Kambol.

The Capital Administration says there will be a transition phase, while the three operators get used to their new routes. It says some disruption in service can be expected.
