During a Wednesday afternoon meeting, 25 October, the President of the National Assembly of Laos applauded the results of the Cambodian National Assembly President's recent visit to Laos, during which the two parliamentary presidents agreed to update an existing MoU to better meet the needs and interests of both institutions.

The meeting took place in Bangkok, Thailand, when National Assembly President, Heng Samrin, attended the 30th Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum hosted by the Thai Parliament.

The President of the National Assembly of Laos, Say Samphoun Phum Vihan, stated that at the end of November, he will lead a delegation to visit Cambodia and attend the 43rd AIPA General Assembly. He also praised Cambodia's development in all fields, and asked President Heng Samrin to help encourage more Cambodian investors to do business in Laos.

The Laotian National Assembly President thanked the National Assembly of Cambodia for accepting 25 officials from the General Secretariat of the Lao National Assembly to study and learn from Cambodia's experience in organizing the AIPA General Assembly.

In response, Cambodian National Assembly President, Heng Samrin, praised Say Samphoun Phum Vihan's remarks and said they reflected progress and cooperation between the two countries.
