PHNOM PENH: The Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training has allowed workers to take three days off for the Water Festival from 7-9 November 2022.

The Ministry has told factory and enterprise owners to allow their workers to take paid leave, however, those factories and enterprises cannot stop their activities during the holiday so workers must be given leave at different times and in shifts.

All factory and enterprise owners must also prepare a list of workers who are to be replaced during the holiday, and who are taking the time off on each of the stated dates, for the labor inspector to check regularly.

Please be reminded that the Royal Government has suspended the main Water Festival celebration this year due to the organization of the the ASEAN Summit and related meetings in November as well. Provincial capitals across the country, however, are still able to hold Water Festival celebrations.
