Siem Reap: On the night of 21 October 2022, Prime Minister Hun Sen has decided to send 200 tons of food with the help of Okhna Try Pheap and $150,000 from philanthropists to help people who were affected by the flood in Kampong Thom province. Speaking at a meeting with people who voluntarily relocated to Pak Sneang Development Zone this morning, 22 October 2022, Prime Minister Hun Sen said that the emergency delivery of food to help Kampong Thom province last night was due to the flood situation in this province which had caused great hardship on the people.

The Prime Minister said: “Yesterday, Nguon Rattanak [Governor of Battambang province] also distributed the aid that I sent before; now I have sent more. But [I] also want to clarify to the people in Kampong Thom that I will go to Kampong Thom on 29 [October].”

Apart from Kampong Thom province, Prime Minister Hun Sen also released food and additional funds to Banteay Meanchey, Pailin, and Pursat provinces, with a large portion received from Okhna Try Pheap.
