More Than 10,000 Hectares of Land Handed Over to Pailin by Battambang

BATTAMBANG: After Prime minister Hun Sen instructed the provincial governors of Battambang and Pailin to resolve their ongoing border issues within two weeks, the two parties have now finally come to an agreement.

On Wednesday, 19 October 2022, the Governor of Pailin Province, Ban Srey Mom, and the provincial working group participated in a meeting with a professional officer on the proposal to adjust the administrative boundary between Pailin and Battambang provinces. This meeting was held under the Chairmanship of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Sak Setha, and also featured the participation of the Chairman of the Council, the Governor of the Board of Governors of Battambang and Pailin Provinces and other relevant officials.

The two provincial borders were clearly defined during this meeting, to serve the interests of the people so that there will no longer be any more confusion or difficulties.

According to officials, 10,000 hectares of land from Battambang is to be handed over to the provincial administration of Pailin province, which now regains control of three locations and three districts after the new recognized border is signed upon.
