PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen said he is well aware of the actors in Cambodia who have been communicating with opposition leader Sam Rainsy over Zoom, however, he said it is not yet time to dissolve the political parties with those relevant members.
In a press briefing held after renewing his voter registration information in Takhmao city, Kandal province, on Thursday morning, 20 October, the Prime Minister said, "If you break the law, we will not hesitate to use the law to dissolve [your party]. But we have to have specific evidence before we do this.”
The Prime Minister added that he does not make this accusation against any party until there is clear evidence. However, he reminded everyone not to form any relationship with the "three generations of traitors," referring to Sam Rainsy and his family.
Prime Minister Hun Sen has repeatedly stated that he will not pardon Sam Rainsy, whom he calls a third-generation traitor. He has also stated that he has prepared forces to prevent any insurgency against the government from occurring, and has prepared the forces to arrest Sam Rainsy if he returns to Cambodia.
