BREAKING NEWS: Dith Tina Was Entrusted by the Parliament as the New Minister of Agriculture

Phnom Penh: Dith Tina was elected by the Members of Parliament to be the new Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries by a vote of 111 of 111.

During the 8th session of the National Assembly of the 6th legislature, this morning 14 October, the National Assembly proceeded with its procedures in the vote of confidence to the new Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries, which was announced by the President of the National Assembly, Heng Samrin. Prime Minister Hun Sen gave a short speech before the vote as well.

The election was held with the secret ballot method from a total of 111 members in which, the members could vote in favor, against, or abstain.

As a result, 111 votes in favor and 0 abstain were passed by the National Assembly.

On 8 October, Prime Minister Hun Sen requested the President of the National Assembly to hold a vote of confidence to appoint Dith Tina as the new Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, replacing Veng Sakhon. He was removed from his position after the King accepted the Prime Minister’s proposal of removal.

Dith Tina is the son of Supreme Court President Dith Monty, and is also a Secretary of State at the Ministry of Mines and Energy prior to this meeting.
