The Prime Minister Is Paying a State Visit in Cuba

Havana: Prime Minister Hun Sen has arrived in Havana, Cuba and received a warm welcome from the Cuban government.

According to Minister Delegate attached to the Prime Minister, Kao Kim Hourn, the Cambodian delegation led by the Prime Minister has arrived in Havana, Cuba, as photographs show that Cuba has troops waiting to welcome the Prime Minister.

Right after addressing the UN General Assembly, the Prime Minister paid a state visit to Cuba. The Cambodian delegation plane left New York, USA, at 5:22 pm on 23 September and took more than 3 hours to arrive.

Prime Minister Hun Sen has said that for 43 years, Cambodia-Cuba relations have been well maintained under his administration, which is equivalent to two-thirds of Cambodia-Cuba relations as a whole.

Cambodia-Cuba established diplomatic relations in April 1960.

Prime Minister Hun Sen posted on his social media account: "During the 62 years of relations between Cambodia and Cuba, I myself have contributed to the strengthening of this relationship for 43 years (1979-2022) which is equal to 2/3 of the whole. My last official visit was in 2000. ”

The Prime Minister added, "I visit again in order to strengthen the existing friendship."

At the same time, the Prime Minister also thanked the Cuban people for helping the Cambodian people during the most difficult time after the fall of the Khmer Rouge genocidal regime.

The Prime Minister concluded by writing, "Help each other in times of need [is how you] know good friends in difficult times."
