PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen has sent a message of apology to Cambodians living in the United States and Canada for not being able to meet with them during his upcoming visit to the United States this week.
The Prime Minister made a post on his Facebook page saying that the lack of a planned meeting this time is due to the very short length of his stay in New York, and the many events that he will have to attend while he is there. Additionally, he had only just met with Cambodians living in the United States and Canada a few months back during his visit to Washington, D.C., in May 2022.
"I hope you understand," he wrote in his message.
Prime Minister Hun Sen will be leading a Cambodian delegation to the United States tomorrow, 21 September, to attend the 77th United Nations General Assembly in New York. Afterwards, the Prime Minister will embark on an official visit to Cuba, then travel directly to Tokyo, Japan to attend the funeral of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
