BATTAMBANG: A woman has been found dead in a Prius car that had been parked for several days. Authorities suspect that the woman may have been murdered, as her body was found with a fracture in her neck.

At 8 PM on Wednesday, 14 September 2022, the body of the victim, identified as 34-year-old Din Sophea, was found at the back of the north side of Phu Puy Mall in Anchanh Village, Sangkat Ochar, Battambang City. She was an employer working in real estate living in Trapeang Cheung village, Sangkat Kraig Thnong, Phnom Penh. The silver Prius she was found in has the Phnom Penh license plate 2BO-1371.

According to the victim's husband, the woman left her house on Sunday morning, 11 September, after telling her family that she would be attending a birthday party. Later, after his wife did not return home and he could not reach her by telephone, he filed a missing persons report to the police, who began searching for her until she was eventually found dead on Wednesday in a Prius. The victim's body was found in a swollen state, indicating some time had passed since she had died.

After the body was found, an autopsy was conducted which found that the victim had a broken bone in her neck, leading authorities to suspect that this was a case of murder. The case has now been forwarded to the specialized forces who are conducting further research.
