SIEM REAP: Residents of Run Ta Ek village, Banteay Srei district, Siem Reap province, will receive a decent living through the provision of new infrastructure and facilities such as roads, water supply, electricity, hospitals, schools, markets, and internet services.

Speaking at a public forum during a meeting with residents in Run Ta Ek village in Siem Reap province on Tuesday morning, 13 September, Prime Minister Hun Sen ordered the preparation of new infrastructure and facilities to meet the daily living needs of the residents who relocated to Run Ta Ek village.

The Prime Minister ordered for a new road to be paved that connects to the existing road that goes into the village, to facilitate the movement of people.

"The road connecting the villages have to be cleared. We have already cleared 18 kilometers out of 140 kilometers, but I suggest paving the road that leads into this area with rubberized asphalt as a priority," he said.

At the same time, the Prime Minister also approved of establishing new clean water projects to the village in order to provide the village with access to a clean water base.

He said, "That's it! Prepare to make Run Ta Ek a town one day and just let them dig a well for now, but the source of clean water will have to reach only 18 km with a pipe that costs only 3 million. Do it! So that the people in this area will have a water base to access a clean water supply."

Regarding education, the Prime Minister ordered the establishment of new secondary schools that can meet the needs of residents in the village and also ensure a full education for children.

The overarching new infrastructure construction project at Run Ta Ek village includes a new three-story school building with 18 rooms and a management building with three rooms. This school will be organized as a secondary school and dormitory for teachers, with two floors and 20 rooms available for 20 teachers.

Regarding health infrastructure, the project involves building three new health centers, one for general illnesses, one for maternal health, and one that will also act as a 20-room apartment building.

In addition, eight markets will be constructed for the local people to do business, along with new telephone and internet service poles.

Prime Minister Hun Sen added that the preparation of new infrastructure and facilities will contribute to Run Ta Ek village’s development into the future.
