National Assembly President to Visit Vietnam and Laos Next Week

PHNOM PENH: The President of the National Assembly, Heng Samrin, is expected to lead a parliamentary delegation to visit Vietnam and Laos from 12-16 September 2022 to strengthen friendship and cooperation between the legislature and the executive branches of Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos.

According to a statement issued on Wednesday, 7 September, during the National Assembly President’s visit to Vietnam, he will meet with the Secretary General of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Vietnamese Head of State, the Prime Minister of Vietnam, the President of the Vietnamese National Assembly, the President of the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association and the Chairman of the Vietnam-Cambodia Parliamentary Friendship Group.

National Assembly President Heng Samrin will also sign the Golden Memorial Book at the Vietnamese National Assembly.

Concluding his visit to Vietnam, the National Assembly President will continue to lead the Cambodian parliamentary delegation to the Lao People's Democratic Republic from 14-16 September.

While in Laos he will meet with both the President and Prime Minister of Laos, the President of the Lao-Cambodian Friendship Association, the Chairman of the Lao Foreign Affairs Committee, the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of Cambodia and will also visit the Thanaleng Dry Port International Gate and Vientiane Park.

The National Assembly President will finally return to Cambodia on the morning of 16 September.
