PHNOM PENH: Cambodian swimming athlete, Kaing Muynin, won four medals at the Finswimming World Cup Round Swimming Pool 2022 held in Phuket, Thailand from 2-4 September.

Kaing Muynin won three gold medals and one bronze. According to the Cambodian SEA Games Organizing Committee (CAMSOC), she won gold in Women’s 200-meter Bifin, Women’s 100-meter Bifin, and Women’s 400-meter Bifin, while she won bronze in Women’s 50-meter Bifin.

Prime Minister Hun Sen also made a Facebook post on Sunday evening, 4 September, congratulating Kaing Muynin on her massive achievement.

Six athletes from Cambodia took part in this sports event at the invitation of the Association of Thailand Underwater Sports (ATUS).

Finswimming is one of the potential sports to be included in the 32nd SEA Games, hosted by Cambodia, in 2023. The Finswimming World Cup Round Swimming Pool 2022 is, therefore, seen as a good opportunity for Cambodian athletes to build their capacity for the upcoming games.

Organized by ATUS, the Finswimming World Cup Round Swimming Pool 2022 was held in Phuket, Thailand from 2-4 September, and saw the participation of 230 athletes from 16 different countries.
