Son of Former Siem Reap Governor Becomes Deputy Governor

SIEM REAP: Khim Finan, the son of former Siem Reap provincial governor Khim Bunsong, has been appointed deputy governor of Siem Reap by the Prime Minister, after serving as governor of Banteay Srei district for nearly three years.

In the sub-decree dated 30 August, Signed by Prime Minister Hun Sen, Khim Finan and three other officials, including Sok Thol, Monny Rainsy and Yun Linna, were appointed as Deputy Governors of the board of governors of Siem Reap.

Pursuant to the Law on the Administration of the Capital, Provinces, Municipalities, Districts, and Khans, the Royal Government of Cambodia has decided to increase the number of Capital and Provincial Governors to 11.

During his closing remarks at the Dissemination and Implementation of the National Program for Sub-National Democratic Development, Phase 2, 2021-2030, on 21 March 2022, Prime Minister Hun Sen stated that developing human resources in the sub-national administration, while the government shifts more functions to the sub-national level, is an important task that will lead Cambodia to succeed in developing and mitigating various risks.
