The State Favors Penalties for Overdue Tour Guide Licenses Until the End Of 2022

PHNOM PENH: The Ministry of Tourism has decided to favor a transitional penalty in cash regarding the expiration of tourism guide licenses at all levels until 31 December 2022. This exception is to encourage and boost tourism readiness for 2023.

In a statement issued on 11 August, the Ministry of Tourism urged all expired tour guides to re-apply for a license without paying a fine from today until 31 December 2022 at all provincial and municipal departments of tourism.

In addition to the penalty immunity, the Ministry also grants exemptions for health certificate applications by replacing it with Covid-19 vaccination certificates or cards, indicating one has received the basic and booster doses of the vaccine, effective from the date of signing until 31 December 2023.

The government has chosen 2023 as the year to promote tourism both domestically and abroad, while Cambodia will host the SEA Games and the ASEAN Para Games.
