CPP and Communist Party of Vietnam Youth Federation Agree to Increase Bilateral Cooperation

HANOI: Member of the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) and Chairman of the Central Youth Party, Lt. Gen. Hun Manet, along with the Permanent Secretary and First Secretary (Acting) of the Ho Chi Minh Youth Federation in Hanoi, Bui Quang Huy, have agreed on the direction of enhancing bilateral cooperation to contribute to the strengthening of friendship and solidarity between the two countries and peoples.

The agreement was reached during a meeting between Lt. Gen. Hun Manet and Bui Quang Huy on Tuesday afternoon, 9 August, in Hanoi, Vietnam.

During the meeting, the two youth leaders expressed their mutual congratulations on the 55th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between the two countries by designating 2022 as the "Year of Cambodia-Vietnam Friendship," and noted the progress made by both countries, especially the success of controlling the spread of Covid-19 over the past two years.

The two counterparts also praised the vital role of youth in building and developing the country as a core force and agreed on the direction of enhancing bilateral cooperation to contribute to strengthening ties and achieving closer solidarity between the two countries and peoples.

Bui Quang Huy also took the opportunity to congratulate Lt. Gen. Hun Manet on being elected by the 43rd Central Committee of the CPP as the future Prime Ministerial candidate, and wished for the Cambodian national election in 2023 to be successful.
