Cambodia Wins 17 Medals at the 20th ASEAN University Games

PHNOM PENH: Cambodia won a total of 17 medals at the 20th ASEAN University Games held in Ubon Rathchathany, Thailand from 26 July to 6 August 2022.

According to the Secretary of State at the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and the President of the Cambodian Student Sports Federation, Sar Sokha, with 17 medals Cambodia ranked 8th among the participating 11 countries. Of the total medals won, two are gold, seven are silver and eight are bronze.

Cambodia sent 48 delegates, coaches and athletes to join the sporting event in Thailand. Cambodian athletes competed in the following categories: WTF taekwondo, petanque, fencing, karate and athletics.

Thailand came out on top at this year’s ASEAN University Games, followed by Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore, Laos and the Philippines.
