Phnom Penh: Prime Minister Hun Sen, who is recognized by the people of Cambodia as well as the international community that he left his first lady, Mrs. Bun Rany Hun Sen, who was then pregnant, step out of the motherland Cambodia, to save Cambodian people from the genocidal regime of Pol Pot. He left Cambodia with the painful decision to invest his life to liberate Cambodian people from killing fields.
Today, June 20, marks the 44th anniversary (June 20, 1977-June 20, 2021) that Prime Minister Hun Sen painfully decided to invest his life in the struggle to save the Cambodian people from the genocidal regime of Pol Pot.
Prime Minister stressed, "Even though I and the Cambodian people are now enjoying happiness, I will never forget the tens of thousands of tears when I stepped out of the homeland and left the Cambodian people suffering, especially leaving my poor wife who is pregnant at that time. I do not have a better choice because we can not ask for mercy from Pol Pot. "It was a dangerous choice and tears that brought happiness and prosperity to this day."
Describing the painful history many times, Prime Minister Hun Sen said, "I have not yet expressed my doubts about this history. The question is if I do not decide to lead the struggle on June 20, 1977, Where did Pol Pot kill me then? How they kill me? Next question, what other patriots created the Armed Forces of National Salvation instead of me? How did the journey towards liberating the country from the Pol Pot regime come about? Is there a solution through negotiations and the Paris Agreement? And finally, is there a win-win policy that ends the war, how to brings peace and development as it is today? ”
On the morning of June 20, 2021, Prime Minister Hun Sen left the above questions for his compatriots to find the answer because the Prime Minister of Cambodia has always considered those questions embedded in his brain. Always can not answer this question himself.
