Three "Environment Activists" Arrested

Phnom Penh: Three members of the disbanded “Mother Nature” organisation are awaiting their first appearance in court. They were arrested on Wednesday. The three are Sun Ratha, Ly Chandaravuth and Yim Leang.

Spokesperson for the National Police, Lt. Gen. Chhay Kim Khoeun, is reported as saying that the three have been charged with “working with an illegal organization, headed by Alejandro Gonzalez Davidson; using environmental issues as a pretext to stir protests to topple the government; and organising activities sponsored by terrorist financing”.

“Mother Nature” was founded by Alejandro Gonzalez Davidson but was shut down for its illegal activities after Davidson’s deportation from Cambodia.
