Siem Reap Named One of the Best Tourist Cities in the World

PHNOM PENH: Siem Reap is ranked 15th among the 25 best tourist cities in the world, according to a survey conducted by Tourist + Leisure released last week.

According to the AKP national news agency, this cultural tourism city scored 89.66 points, second only to Kyoto in Japan (89.77) and Seoul in South Korea (89.31).

Mexico's Oaxaca topped the table with a score of 92.96, while Slovenia's Ljubljana was 25th with a score of 88.49.

Other Asian cities among the 25 best tourist cities in the world include Ubud in Indonesia, ranked third, Chiang Mai and Bangkok, Thailand, ranked seventh and 24th, Jaipur and Udaipur, India ranked 8th and 10th, Osaka and Tokyo of Japan ranked 9th and 12th, Bodrum of Turkey ranked 17th, Muscat of Oman ranked 19th and Hoi An of Vietnam ranked 20th.

According to Tourist + Leisure, the ranking is based on voters' ratings of hotels, restaurants, cultural heritage, attractions, measures put in place to prevent Covid-19, and more, of each tourist city around the world.
