IPTP Supports Cambodia's Initiative for the Establishment of the Institute of Peace and Food Science

MOROCCO: The International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace (IPTP) has supported peace in Cambodia and initiated calls for the establishment of a peace and food science institute, at Cambodia's request, for scientific research. The IPTP has put forward strong recommendations for the implementation of peace programs and greater food security. The declaration was made during the 10th Plenary Session of the IPTP in Morocco.

In addition to supporting Cambodia's initiatives, the meeting also called for the participation of the government, parliament and the private sector, especially public-private partnerships, which could provide key solutions to challenges of peace and food security.

Cambodian National Assembly Representative, Sous Yara, said during the meeting that MPs must help to ensure that humanitarian corridors for food, medicine and other essentials are open to the common people at all times, ensuring the continuation of the production chain and food distribution network, for key products such as seeds, fertilizers, and other fuels, which must be exempt from sanctions.

The 10th Plenary Session of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace (IPTP) was held in Rabat, Morocco from 12-16 July 2022 under the theme "Ensuring food security is a prerequisite for global peace and tolerance."
