Preah Sihanouk Provincial Administration Urges Citizens Traveling on National Road No. 4 to Be Cautious

PREAH SIHANOUK: The Preah Sihanouk Provincial Administration has asked people traveling into the province through National Road No. 4 to be careful because the road is currently flooded around O'Bak Rotes commune in Kampong Seila district.

According to a statement issued on Tuesday, 12 July, "If the rain continues, it will cause more flooding on National Road No. 4 and may lead to a temporary suspension of traffic at the area stated in the future.”

Currently, the Sihanoukville Provincial Administrative Unity Command and local authorities are monitoring the flood situation in Kampong Seila district.

On Monday, 11 July, the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology issued an additional warning regarding the weather situation in Cambodia, saying that between 11-14 July, there will be heavy rain in the coastal areas of Cambodia, which may lead to some areas of Sihanoukville and Koh Kong to experience flooding.

The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology said the situation was caused by the effects of the prolonged ITCZ low pressure system from Thailand linked to an active low pressure in the South China Sea, with a strong southwest monsoon on the coast and in the lower parts of Cambodia.
