Minister Of Trade Of Cambodia, Meets Deputy Minister Of International Trade Of The Ministry Of Economy Of The UAE

Phnom Penh: In the afternoon of July 04, 2020, Pan Sousak, Minister of Trade of Cambodia and Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Deputy Minister of International Trade of the Ministry of Economy of the United Arab Emirates, accompanied by colleagues. Held a video-based workshop, which was to promote, expand and boost cross-sectorial cooperation and investment flow and to also increase bilateral trade between Cambodia and UAE.

Prime Minister Hun Sen thanked and warmly welcomed the United Arab Emirates government for organizing the Dubai World Expo 2022 successfully, and appreciated the bilateral cooperation in organizing it.

In addition, the Prime Minister also thanked the United Arab Emirates for supporting Cambodia's initiative to further deepen trade cooperation and bilateral investment.

The Minister confirms that the United Arab Emirates is a major market for exports of goods from Cambodia. Based on Cambodia's trade data, even in the context of the spread of Covid-19 disease, the two countries' double-sided trade size reached about $120 million in 2020, up 6% compared to 2020. Among these, Cambodia exports goods to UAE.

The UAE imports: petroleum products, animal feed, minerals, tobacco and ceramic products.

In response, Minister Dr. Thani bin praised the good trade cooperation between the two countries and highly assessed the potential of Cambodia's future economic growth and expressed willingness and intention to strengthen trade cooperation. Invest and bilateral action to take growth to another level.

On this occasion, the two sides exchanged views and expressed optimism and visions between the two countries, to keep promoting economic growth, regional and global competitiveness through distributing export markets between the two countries and increasing trade and investment to a higher level.
