CDC APPROVES NEW GARMENT FACTORY PROJECT IN KAMPONG SPEU PROVINCE

A US$3.5 million garment factory will be built in Bosstaney village, Kaheng commune, Samrong Thong district, Kampong Speu province, creating over 700 jobs for local people.

The newly approved project was announced by the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) in a press release issued yesterday.

The garment factory project is invested by HAO JIA LI (CAMBODIA) GARMENT CO., LTD, the same source added.

Such investment demonstrates confidence of investors in Cambodia’s macroeconomic, political and social stability as the country is recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic.

 First quarter 2022 banking and financial provided loans 205.4 trillion riels of loans.

By the end of the first quarter of 2022, banking and financial institutions provided loans to the private sector totaling 205.4 trillion riels (US $ 50.7 billion), an increase of 22.4% compared to the end of the first quarter last year to meet investment needs and economic activity. Credit to the private sector covers construction, wholesale and retail trade, agricultural services, household units and manufacturing.
