PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen has reaffirmed his commitment to work with India to promote cooperation to a new level that brings peace, stability and prosperity to nations in the region and across the world.
In a letter sent to the Prime Minister of the Republic of India, Narendra Modi, Prime Minister Hun Sen extended his wishes for the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Republic of India. He noted that since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1952, Cambodia and India have developed a strong and mutually beneficial partnership at the bilateral, regional and multilateral levels.
The two countries have expanded cooperation in many areas of common interest including politics, social security and economic development.
Seeing the bilateral achievements of both countries in the last 70 years, Prime Minister Hun Sen said he is confident that Cambodia and India will be able to find many new opportunities for cooperation that bring mutual benefits to the people of both nations.
Cambodia, as chair of ASEAN this year, is ready to work with other ASEAN Member States and India to further strengthen the ASEAN-India Strategic Partnership. At the same time, Prime Minister Hun Sen has also warmly welcomed the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Cambodia to attend the ASEAN-India Summit and other relevant summits in October 2022.
