World Cup Hopes Still Alive In Some Countries

INTERNATIONAL: As the "FIFA World Cup edges closer, National football teams are gearing up for the big event in football, and some of the world greatest names will able to put on their countries jersey with pride. FIFA’s World Cup-Trophy Tour to Phnom Penh, Cambodia arrives via a private jet on 15 June 2022.

There will be a parade from Phnom Penh airport to the Peace Palace where Prime Minister Hun Sen will welcome the trophy to Cambodia. Then the trophy will be available for the locals to see and take pictures at the Morodok Techo National Stadium.

The Government is encouraging, all citizens, athletes, and soccer enthusiasts to join the celebration from 1pm to 10pm and have pride and love for this historic event for Cambodia.

As it stands, 30 of the 32 spots have been filled, with Wales being the latest team to join following their win over Ukraine on Sunday for UEFA's final spot.

All that is left to be decided now are the two intercontinental playoffs.

Australia will take on Peru next week for a place at November's World Cup finals after beating the United Arab Emirates 2-1 on Tuesday in Asia's final eliminator for Qatar 2022.

The Socceroo’s will meet Peru in the same venue next Monday in the first of two intercontinental playoffs to determine the remaining spots at the finals, with New Zealand playing Costa Rica in the final eliminator 24 hours later.

Here are all of the teams that have officially qualified for next year's competition, which will be the last one with 32 teams before expanding to 48 for the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

FIFA Referees Committee announced the lists with the names of the selected match officials for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™.

36 referees, 69 assistant referees and 24 video match officials (VMOs) have been chosen in close cooperation with the six confederations, based on their quality and the performances delivered at FIFA tournaments as well as at other international and domestic competitions in recent years. For the first time in the history of the FIFA World Cup, the FIFA Referees Committee has also appointed three women's referees and three women's assistant referees.
