“The Taste of Angkor” Wins Two Gourmand World Cookbook Awards in 2022

PHNOM PENH: The Minister of Foreign Affairs, DPM Prak Sokhonn, has reported that “The Taste of Angkor” cookbook has won two Gourmand World Cookbook Awards 2022. The cookbook was presented at the Umea Food Symposium in Sweden on 2-5 June.

The two awards “The Taste of Angkor” won were ‘Best Asian Cuisine Book’ and ‘Heads of State/Food’ regarding the foreword written by DPM Prak Sokhonn.

The DPM stated that another Cambodian cookbook, titled "The Culinary Art of Cambodia,” also won the ‘Special Award of the Jury’ at the same event.

"The Taste of Angkor" cookbook was published by the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation as part of its food and cultural diplomacy. The cookbook previously won the "Best Asian Cookbook" award at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards of 2021.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs first unveiled the cookbook on 18 January 2021, containing 38 recipes of Khmer dishes and desserts with detailed and easy-to-follow instructions, including substitutions for Khmer ingredients that may be hard to source abroad.
