Senior Minister Sun Chanthol Reminds Candidates to Perform Their Roles Well to Serve the People

KANDAL: The Senior Chairman of the Koh Thom District Working Group, Senior Minister Sun Chanthol, has reminded all candidates to perform their duties well to serve the people in Chheu Khmao and Sampov Poun communes, and to also provide public services and strive to serve the people as much as possible.

During a meeting with Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) members in Chheu Khmao and Sampov Poun communes, Koh Thom district, Kandal province, while campaigns for the 5th mandate Commune/District Council Elections are ongoing, Senior Minister Sun Chanthol urged the commune candidates to provide the following public services: issuing birth, wedding and death certificates and other necessary services at a faster rate, more efficiently and transparently, and to make the development of the commune more prosperous for the people.

On that occasion, the Senior Minister instructed the people in this commune to go to the polls on the day of the 5th Mandate Commune / District Council Elections, which will be held on 5 June, with polls open from 7 am until 3 pm, and urged for everyone to vote for the CPP. He also reminded everyone to bring their valid identification card and to check that their names and other information has been written correctly.

A resident of Sampov Poun commune, Mr. Chhit Try, said that the CPP has helped build many achievements for the people.


He said, "From the time of the Pol Pot regime until now, the CPP has worked hard to help the people, and we can see with our own eyes that the people in Sampov Poun commune love the CPP because the party strives to build all its achievements and help the needy."

Another resident of Sampov Poun commune, Ms. Tok Srou, said that she likes the CPP based on their work, and seeing what they have achieved, and she also calls on others to vote for this party.


She said, "Please call on all people, and those who love the CPP to help vote for the CPP [during this election]."

The 5th Commune / District Council Election will be held on 5 June 2022, with 17 political parties taking part. There are a total of 116,622 seats to be won nationwide, from 1,652 communes and districts, with more than 9.2 million registered to vote.
