Battambang: Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and Commander-in-Chief of the Army, Lt. Gen. Hun Manet, stated that the defense sector is the backbone of the duty and the common cause of the whole Khmer nation, national defense, and religion.

The King and the government aim to ensure the absolute peace, stability, security, and sustainable development of its people and society. In order to effectively respond to the demands of a sharp and fast response, the defense sector needs to continue to be constantly modernized with a clear direction and a long-term vision of independence in ordering leadership, training, and equipment.

He said this at the inauguration ceremony of the Army Tank Command Building and the opening of the 2022 Armoured Tank Training Course (Battambang Province, May 19, 2022). Lt. Gen. Hun Manet congratulated the construction of the new headquarters building, which is a precious gift from Prime Minister Hun Sen, this building can also be considered another new historical achievement that shows the progressive transformation of the Tank Command.

He added that this continuous growth really reflects the attention and consideration of the Prime Minister for the well-being of soldiers and their families in all units of the Royal Cambodian Armed Force.

Moreover, he provides all kinds of support in terms of spirit, budget, and materials to facilitate daily work, training, equipping various facilities, improving the well-being of the army and army families through the construction of camps, shelters, and ដealing with daily food, etc because Prime Minister himself also was a soldier who has gone through all kinds of difficulties in the fire of war.

In addition, this also shows the strong solidarity between the Army Tank Command with the General Department of Taxation and the Vattanac Group in achieving the direction of tasks in line with the vision of the PM’s long-term commitment to establishing a close brotherhood between the front and rear battles, which is the foundation of the people's defense, supports the army's performance to strengthen the entire defense.

The Lt. Gen. expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Army Tank Command to re-launch the 2022 Armored Tank Training Course after two years' of postponement due to the spread of Covid-19 disease. This training course really responds to the need to strengthen and expand the professional capacity of the soldiers to ensure the sustainability of the ability to perform the duties in the future and long term of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, in general, and in particular of the Tanks Command.
