Cambodia-US to Strengthen Military Cooperation

Phnom Penh: Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and Commander-in-Chief of the Army, Lt. Gen. Hun Manet, met with Director for SE Asia at the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy, Lori Abele to discuss cooperation, operations and especially military cooperation between the armies of the two countries.

The meeting was held on the afternoon of May 18, 2022, with both sides highly appreciating the past cooperation and expressing their willingness to maintain, strengthen and expand further military cooperation in the future, continuing to increase trust between the armies of the two countries as well.

Hun Manet thanked the Government of the United States Department of Defense for supporting and training the Cambodian Army in the past.

Lori Abele thanked Cambodia for its past involvement with the United States in security.
