PM Takes a Stand that Unvaccinated Tourists Will Need to Quarantine

Phnom Penh: Prime Minister Hun Sen has said that he has decided to oppose the proposal of the Minister of Tourism, Thong Khon, who wants Cambodia to drop the quarantine mandate for those who have not been vaccinated.

Speaking at a meeting with Samdech Techo Voluntary Youth Doctor Association (TYDA) on the morning of 17 May 2022, the Prime Minister announced the rejection of the request of the Minister of Tourism to remove the quarantine measures for unvaccinated people like Vietnam and Thailand who are about to lift their mandates. He said that Cambodia could not do the same.

He emphasized that the decision to drop the quarantine measures for unvaccinated people is like a discouragement for citizens to get vaccinated.
