Vietnam Pledges to Train Human Resources on Digitalization of Cambodian Media

VIETNAM: The Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Information and Telecommunications, Pham Anh Tuan, has promised Cambodia that Vietnam will help to train human resources for digitalization in the information sector.

A delegation from the Royal Government of Cambodia in charge of Administration and Finance within the Ministry of Information, led by Ly Van Hong, held a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Information and Telecommunications of Vietnam, Pham Anh Tuan, on Monday morning in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Ly Van Hong thanked the Vietnamese side for providing vocational training to young officials of the Ministry of Information as well as to many Cambodian journalists in the past.

He asked the Vietnamese side to share their experiences on the organization of the SEA Games, which Vietnam has now hosted twice, including the current 2022 Games, because Cambodia will host the event in 2023.

In response, Deputy Minister Pham Anh Tuan fully agreed with the request of the Cambodian side to exchange delegations and vocational training for Cambodian Information Officers. Regarding the experience of organizing and promoting the SEA Games, the Vietnamese side also promised to share their technical experience and experience with human resources with Cambodia, so that the Kingdom can get ready to host the SEA games in 2023.

In addition, the Vietnamese side also promised to provide human resource training for digitalization in the field of information and dissemination to officials of the Ministry of Information. Vietnam is currently training about 3,000 to 5,000 digital officers because a successful digital transformation depends on human resources.

It should be noted that the Cambodian Ministry of Information’s current visit to Vietnam is to share the experience of organizing the SEA Games and Para Games of Vietnam, which will officially start on 12 May 2022.
