Phnom Penh: The Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) have expressed its sadness over the death of the party's Central Committee member Hun Neng, who died at the age of 72 from a heart attack on the evening of May 5, 2022.

The Standing Committee of the Central Committee stated that, Mr. Hun Neng had struggled and acted in all ways to serve the interests of society, religion, the King and the Cambodian People's Party, which the party will remember and pleased to record the work so all his work will remembered for the nation and the people as well.

"The party would like to record all the heroic deeds and ideals of His Excellency Hun Neng left for the nation and the people of Cambodia," the letter wrote.

The Standing Committee of the Central Committee shared the deepest condolences with the family of Hun Neng's and prayed for him to live in haven.

It should also be noted that prime minister’s brother, Mr. Hun Neng, died at the age of 72 at about 6:25 pm on May 5, 2022 due to a heart attack. Mr Hun Neng's body is currently being kept by his family at his home in Kampong Cham province before the funeral procession at Wat Sovan Kiri Rattanak Phnom Pros, Trapeang Char village, Krala commune, Kampong Siem district, Kampong Cham province on May 9th.
