What Will PM Hun Sen Do While Attending a Meeting in Japan?

JAPAN: Prime Minister Hun Sen left Cambodia for Japan on Friday morning, to attend the 4th Asia-Pacific Water Summit in Kumamoto. According to the Prime Minister's plans, there will be many other meetings for him to attend other than the summit in Kumamoto, which will benefit Cambodia and its people.

According to the Minister Delegate attached to the Prime Minister, Srey Thamrong, during Prime Minister Hun Sen’s two-day visit to Japan from 23 to 24 April, he will partake in many different programs. Starting from the morning of 23 April, he will hold a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of Laos at the request of the Laotian side, then the Prime Minister and his accompanying delegation will attend the opening ceremony of the 4th Asia-Pacific Water Summit.

At noon, after the opening ceremony, the Prime Minister will continue to have lunch with the leaders of the Asia-Pacific region and on the afternoon of 23 April, he will attend the meeting of Heads of State and Government of the 4th Asia-Pacific Water Forum.

He will then lead a delegation to meet with the Prime Minister of Japan and also meet with representatives of Mitsubishi and other Japanese companies, to inform them about the potential investment opportunities Cambodia offers.

The Minister delegate said, "This company (Mistubishi) is planning a lot of investment in Cambodia. Then the mayor of Kumamoto will lead eight companies based in Kumamoto to pay a courtesy call [to Prime Minister Hun Sen] and explore investment and opportunities in Cambodia."

Prime Minister Hun Sen will continue to meet with Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio at a dinner hosted by the Prime Minister of Japan. According to Minister Delegate Srey Thamrong, the dinner was organized to thank Prime Minister Hun Sen for attending the water summit, and to thank him as well as the Cambodian people on the occasion of the Japanese Prime Minister's successful visit to Cambodia at the end of March.

On Sunday, 24 April, Prime Minister Hun Sen will return back to Cambodia in the early morning, and is set to arrive at Phnom Penh International Airport at around 1 pm.
