The Government Has Decided to Reduce Quarantine Period for Non-vaccinated Foreign Tourists to 7 Days

Phnom Penh: The Ministry of Health has decided to reduce the quarantine period for foreign tourists who have not been vaccinated or have not been fully vaccinated to 7 days. This reduction is based on a note from Prime Minister Hun Sen.

In a press release issued on 21 April 2022, the Minister of Health, Mam Bun Heng, decided to reduce the period of quarantine from 14 days to 7 days for those who have not been vaccinated or have not been fully vaccinated, including Cambodians and foreigners alike.

The Minister also ordered that the travelers be given a rapid test on the 7th day after the completion of the flight and two rapid tests for passengers entering the land by the border, once on the day of check-in and again at the end of quarantine.

The Minister of Health and Chairman of the Inter-Ministerial Commission to Combat Covid-19 also ordered the relevant authorities to continue vaccinating both the first and second doses to the Cambodian people and workers on the day they were to leave the quarantine center.

Following the outbreak of Covid-19 in 2020, the government required 14 days of quarantine for all incoming travelers. However, due to the successful discovery of the vaccine and the vaccination campaign, the government has decided to waive the condition for passengers who have been fully vaccinated, while those who have not been vaccinated or have not been fully vaccinated are still required to quarantine for 14 days. The new decision has now reduced the quarantine period in half.
