More Than 100 Killed or Injured in Traffic Accidents During Khmer New Year

PHNOM PENH: The spokesman of the National Police, Chhay Kim Khoeun, has told EAC News that over the three-day Khmer New Year holiday, there were 38 traffic accidents recorded across the country, causing 27 deaths and 80 injuries.

The National Police General Commission reports that the main causes of the traffic accidents included reckless speeding, breaking traffic laws, and driving under the influence.

It should also be noted that during the three-day Khmer New Year holiday and the following Sunday over the weekend from 14-17 April, a total of 5,175,754 tourists travelled across the country, including 5,140,495 locals and 35,259 domestic foreigners.
