Prime Minister Breaks the Pot to Represent Popular Games during New Year

Sihanoukville: Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen was invited to play the “Break the Pot” game that represents a popular game during the Khmer New Year.

Taking a break in Sihanoukville during the Khmer New Year, on the afternoon of 15 April 2022, the Prime Minister played the pottery game on Ochheuteal beach after soaking in the sea.

“Break the Pot” is a traditional game that is popular during Khmer New Year. This game consists of tying a pot on a high place while the player is blindfolded by a scarf and holding a stick to hit the pot. The player is usually rotated three times before the player, who is blindfolded, will search and try to break the pot with the stick.

Yesterday, the Prime Minister’s wife also played this game.

It should also be noted that during the Khmer New Year this year, the Prime Minister, his wife, and his family came to relax in Sihanoukville, the province of the rising star in the southwest of the country. On the third day of the Khmer New Year, the Prime Minister and his wife will also inaugurate the statue of Preah Thong Neang Neak.
