CDC Approves Two Big Investment Projects

Phnom Penh, 4 June 2021: The Council for the Development of Cambodia has given the green light to two new investment projects in the kingdom, amounting to a combined $10.6-million. The CDC’s Investment Committee made the announcement earlier today.

Final registration certificates have been approved for the two projects, meaning that they can now launch in the country. When established, they’ll create almost a thousand new jobs in the packaging and apparel sectors.

Impak (Cambodia) plans to build a production facility in Damnak Village, which is located in the Ang Snoul district of Kandal Province. The factory will produce suitcases and bags for the export market. It has a capital investment of approximately $5-million and will create just over 600 jobs.

The other investment approved today is Wing Chen Packaging. Its cardboard and paper bag factory is to be built in Chung Ruk Village, located in Phnom Penh’s Khan Pou Senchey. Its investment of approximately $5.6-million will create almost 250 new jobs.
