Senior Minister Sun Chanthol Chairs Meeting to Decide on Challenges, Suggestions and Directions of Work Activities

PHNOM PENH: The Minister of Public Works and Transport, Senior Minister Sun Chanthol, chaired the weekly meeting focusing on the validation of newly appointed civil servants, the transfer of new task suggestions and the direction-setting for further work activities, raised by the relevant units under the Ministry's guidance, on Wednesday (6 April) at the Ministry's office.

The Senior Minister expressed his congratulations and encouragement to all newly appointed officials to work hard, more actively and responsibly in their positions for the benefit of the Ministry and nation. He also mentioned the project to officially open the new public service center on 27 March in Sihanoukville, which will bring services closer to the people and will allow service delivery to be better managed, monitored, and strengthened, as well as more efficient and transparent. At the same time, the Ministry will also assist in the organization of Sangkran celebrations organized by the Techo Sen Institute (TSI) of Public Works and Transport on the occasion of Khmer New Year.

The Senior Minister also spoke about the human resource education and training project in the Department of Public Works and Transport of the Capital and Provinces, prepared in the spirit of the 2021 Work Review Meeting and the work direction for 2022. He said that he was proud that the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) has the TSI of Public Works and Transport to train officials and students from abroad.

He further thanked the Institute for its efforts to establish good relations with private partners through the signing of memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with local and foreign universities and other institutions, in order to strengthen the quality of education provided by the Institute. He commended the institute for training not only external students but also the technical officers of the Ministry.

In particular, the Senior Minister instructed all General Departments to review and prepare the Process Mapping in their units by May 2022 to reduce the work process, save time, reduce costs and any other obstacles, and be ready to present it to the leadership of the Ministry to improve the working system and achieve the goal of building, repairing and maintaining better quality roads in Cambodia.
