"Morbius" Stuck the Landing in Cambodia

PHNOM PENH: Legend Eden held a high-security screening of “Mobius” on Wednesday night, 30 March 2022. Having previously played DC Comics' The Joker, Oscar winner Jared Leto takes on Marvel's Morbius in the first big-screen adaptation of the vampire-like character.

"Morbius" tells the story of Michael Morbius, an altruistic and infirm biochemist who suffers from a rare blood disease. Trying an experimental cure, he morphs into a brutal monster with a thirst for blood but learns to harness his powers.

Leto said that it was an incredible opportunity to portray Morbius in all three versions.

He said, "There are so many of these iconic Marvel characters that have already been interpreted that it's very rare you get asked to step into the shoes nowadays of a character that's never been realized before."

British actor Matt Smith, known for "Doctor Who" and "The Crown", plays Morbius' lifelong friend Lucien, renamed Milo by Morbius when they were children. They shared the same debilitating disease and became close since. Talking to Reuters, Smith revealed that he quite enjoyed working with Leto and his method of acting.

He said, "I quite enjoyed that whole thing because you don't get to meet Jared before the shoot, or Michael as it were. I've not experienced that before, but I feel it sets quite an interesting energy about the room because you're still, you are sort of always relating to each other in character. And I found that, I found that quite entertaining and quite good fun, actually."

“Morbius” has two after-credits scenes and is now available in Cambodia.
