Lightning strikes, killing and injuring many in Rukkiri district, Battambang province

BATTAMBANG: One person died instantly and three others were injured during a rainstorm at 3:30 pm on 30 March 2022 in Muk Reaah 1 village, Muk Reaah commune, Rukkiri district, Battambang province.

Authorities say the lightning struck as the four were tending cows in a field during the rainy season.

The victim, an 18-year-old girl, died instantly, while the others aged 15 to 42, was taken to hospital.

The body of the victim is now being taken to her family for a traditional burial while the injured are being treated at a hospital.
