PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen has verbally ordered the governors around the Tonle Sap Lake to take action against corrupt traders destroying the lake's fish population, ordering the army and the National Police, as well, to take immediate action against this.

He said, "The Commander-in-Chief should give support to find a way to get rid of rogue traders who destroy the [lake's] fish population.”

He also said that he permits the use of helicopters to catch such rogue traders.

The Prime Minister made this order while speaking at the closing ceremony of the Ministry of Agriculture's meeting to review the work of 2021 and set the work direction of 2022, on Wednesday (23 March).
