DPM Sar Kheng Asks Other Political Parties to Not Exaggerate What is Really Happening in Cambodia
PREY VENG: The Minister of Interior, Deputy Prime Minister Sar Kheng, has instructed all political parties not to exaggerate what is not true in Cambodia or produce slander, as the country continues to progress and is peaceful. His remark comes following the regular criticisms made by the opposition party, particularly in regard to Cambodia’s successes being attributed to foreign aid and not the achievements of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP).
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the meeting to summarize the work results of 2021 and the work direction of 2022 of the Prey Veng Provincial Administration on Tuesday, 22 March, DPM Sar Khen said that the Royal Government has always helped people all the time regardless of their political party.
He emphasized, "Now ask, is there any such thing? Schools, hospitals, vaccinations for only CPP [members]? Or something like that? Please give justice, and for those people who had listinened, make those who speak please to you with with consideration."
"We, the rulers, must stand by the rule of law, we must qualify all political parties that operate, but all political parties must not exaggerate what is not true, sometimes small stories get expanded inthe mountain,” he continued.
He also called on government officials to be servants of the citizens, and not to consider themselves bosses of citizen. He said some opposition politicians in Cambodia are underdeveloped, while the world praised Cambodia for its prosperity and peace.
At the same time, he also called on all guardians not to rely too much on the authorities to take care of their children to avoid drugs.
"I would like to call on parents and families to support and manage children under our guardianship, without relying entirely on the authorities and schools to fight against drugs to protect their health," he said.
He continued that the chemicals stolen to produce drugs cannot be buried due to concerns about the danger to public health, especially to the youth who are concerned, so the authorities must pay the utmost attention to both of these problems.
